Women in Green's 9th Edit-a-thon
Hello Medievalfran:
WikiProject Women in Green is holding a month-long Good Article Editathon event in October 2025!
Running from October 1 to 31, 2025, WikiProject Women in Green (WiG) is hosting a Good Article (GA) editathon event with the theme What Women Do! All experience levels welcome. Never worked on a GA project before? We'll teach you how to get started. Or maybe you're an old hand at GAs – we'd love to have you involved! Participants are invited to work on nominating and/or reviewing GA submissions related to women and women's works (e.g., books, films) during the event period. We hope to collectively cover article subjects from at least 31 different occupations or professions (or broader roles in society) by month's end. GA resources and one-on-one support will be provided by experienced GA editors, and participants will have the opportunity to earn a special WiG barnstar for their efforts.

Women in Green reviewing drive
Hello Medievalfran:
This month, February 2026, WikiProject Women in Green is participating in the February 2026 GAN Backlog Drive, in which we're aiming to review as many outstanding Good Article (GA) nominations about women and women's works as possible. If you want to help out, you can check out the project talk page for a list of nominations in need of review (including some WiG originals). If you haven't reviewed a GA nomination before, be sure to check out the reviewing instructions and guidelines and feel free to ask for a mentor to check your work.
We are also working together with a wikithon hosted on 5 February by Wikimedia UK, which will focus on writing and improving articles about women involved in sustainable development. If you want to join the event, feel free to sign up at the eventbrite page; or if you would be interested in providing a 20-minute assessment and/or a full GA review of the submitted articles in the weeks following, put your name down on the project talk page for updates as the event progresses.

New Page Patrol Newsletter - May 2026

Backlog update
At the time of this message, there are 15,282 articles and 32,951 redirects awaiting review.
After the January–February drive the article backlog was reduced to 15,179 articles and the redirect backlog to 19,053 respectively. Great job! However, both queues are growing rapidly and any additional reviews are highly appreciated.
2024 and 2025 NPP Awards
Hey man im josh and MPGuy2824 won the Redirect Ninja Master Award for 2024 and 2025 respectively, for reviewing the most redirects.
Overall in 2024, one Platinum, two Gold, eight Silver, 12 Bronze and 45 Iron Barnstars were awarded. Additionally, 66 reviewers got the NPP barnstar for doing more than 100 reviews through the year. In 2025, one Platinum, ten Silver, 13 Bronze and 38 Iron Barnstars were awarded. Additionally, 38 reviewers got the NPP barnstar for doing more than 100 reviews through the year.
BoyTheKingCanDance, Rosiestep, SunDawn, and Vanderwaalforces were inducted into the NPP Hall of Fame for having two separate years of 2,000+ article reviews.
January–February backlog drive
The experimental two-month long backlog drive concluded with 183 reviewers patrolling over 27,761 articles and 35,309 redirects, earning over 36,836 points. Congratulations to JTtheOG, who achieved first place with 6,484.6 points in this drive.
May backlog drive
An article-only backlog drive is currently underway. We are hoping to make a big dent in the backlog. You can read more about it or join at Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Backlog drives/May 2026.
PageTriage

Articles for Creation backlog drive
Hello Medievalfran:
WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive in August!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than a month of outstanding reviews from the current 3+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 August 2026 through 31 August 2026.
You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.
Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.

BBC Brand
Hello, thanks for the comment.
I'm aware it could be added under the various sections of the BBC pages I have distinctly not chosen to do this as it is to collate how the BBC have created and established a brand with curation pointing to the other pages. It's for readers who solely wish to understand the BBC's brand not simply the TV idents. It functions differently. I still don't understand why you, and the other people who have rejected this page, think that this is a scam to promote a product. Permanente Cement has been out of business for many years so these is no motivation to promote their products. From 1939 to 1945, Permanente Cement Company, a part of the vast Henry J. Kaiser organization, produced all of the cement to build Shasta Dam, then the tallest dam in the world and still the largest dam in California and all of the cement used by the U.S.Navy to build facilities throughout the Pacific both prior to, and after the attack on Pearl Harbor. They provided a building material that was equal in importance to steel. None of the runways on Midway, Oahu, Tinian, Iwo Jima, Guam and Saipan, to name a few, could have been built without Permanente Cement. Without those runways, and other facilities, the United States and its allies, would not have defeated Japan.
Please explain your reasons for rejecting this important piece of history. I referenced a highly regarded magazine and numerous other journals in the page. I do not understand what is missing?

I left a banner at the top of the draft which if you click should redirect you to an explanation of notability - you can also find that here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability. At present, the article simply does not show significant coverage in independent and reliable sources. The sources that I can see are from local newspapers and would appear to be day-to-day business notices rather than significant coverage. I would suggest that you focus effort on adding mention of Permanente Cement (with citations) to relevant pages which already exist, eg. Shasta Dam, Bureau of Reclamation, Pearl Harbour, or any of the runways you mention, if you believe it is important that they are mentioned there and you have the sources which evidence the link and work done. - Hello @Sulfurboy: I figured that the citations demonstrate significant, independent, and reliable coverage, especially the coverage in Eye on Design (their about page stages that they are published by "AIGA, the professional association for design, the oldest and largest not-for-profit design organization in the United States") and Hyperallergic, an important international design magazine. The MAK centre residency info and Lincoln Film Centre collabs, although of course not independent of the subject, suggested notability to me in terms of major institutions agreeing to collaborate, and naming the publisher within promotional materials which suggests the name has recognition for audiences.
