Could you please provide an ISBN number for the source you've added here. I was unable to find it in WorldCat. --15:40, 6 August 2026 (UTC) bender235 (talk) 15:40, 6 August 2026 (UTC)
- As the edit summary explains, it is from the main Apartheid article. You will need to ask whoever added it into that article originally if you want to know what the ISBN is, as I do not know. -- Cdjp1 (talk) 16:11, 6 August 2026 (UTC)

Assistance
Hi Cdjp1, would you mind please taking a look over some recent edits to British naval ranks during WW1 at the Comparative officer ranks of World War I article. I suspect they are incorrect and should be reverted but I am no expert.
Also, I have a feeling that our friend who likes to introduce subtle vandalism to rank articles might be back in town since I had to remove a flurry of unusual edits at United States Army enlisted rank insignia of World War II. You may recall our previous discussion at User talk:Skjoldbro/Archive 3#Please help sift through vandalism where this went unchecked for many months before we noticed and had to do a lot of checking, so please do keep an eye out. - I can't comment as to if there is any relation to prior matters, but based on the sources we cite, and Coleman (2009) Vol I. (my go to for RN ranks and insignia), the prior layout seems to be the correct one. It is not a surprise someone would make the changes that were made in good faith, as it seems more "logical", but the real world is always as logical as we would like. -- Cdjp1 (talk) 15:53, 17 August 2026 (UTC)
Comparative officer ranks of World War I
Dear Cdjp1, the changes I made cannot be classified as errors; on the contrary, they correct the previously misaligned rank hierarchy. The sequence "Second Lieutenant – Lieutenant – Captain – Major – Lieutenant Colonel – Colonel" becomes "Midshipman – Sub-Lieutenant – Lieutenant – Lieutenant Commander – Commander – Captain" in the Royal Navy. If you have any doubts, simply check the page on Royal Navy ranks; you will see that this is the correct rank sequence for both World War I and II. ~2026-43385-15 (talk) 16:16, 17 August 2026 (UTC)
- I advise you read the sources, and the Wikipedia article you suggested I read, as it actually goes against your changes. -- Cdjp1 (talk) 16:45, 17 August 2026 (UTC)
Dear Cdjp1, I have consulted numerous articles and pages to research the ranks and hierarchies of the British Army and Royal Navy before, during, and after World War I. All these sources confirm the equivalence between a "Major" and a "Lieutenant Commander"—not between a "Major" and a "Commander"; it is the rank of "Lieutenant Colonel" that corresponds to "Commander." Therefore, the columns and rows in the World War I rank comparison chart appear to be incorrect or misaligned. In any case, rest assured that I will no longer edit the page, as every time I make a change, the work I do for the Wikipedia community gets reverted. ~2026-43385-15 (talk) 19:33, 17 August 2026 (UTC)
