Recent temp account edits
Can someone more knowledgable than me take a look at the recent edits by User:~2026-24217-06? To me they show some concern, but I still have a lot to learn about slavic ethnic identities, especially in the Balkans. – Ike Lek (talk) 15:25, 12 July 2026 (UTC)
- Please clarify what I have done wrong. I did not add or remove any content in the case of Slavic-related articles. The edits pertain to Wikipedia's stylistic conventions on excessive linking and avoiding multiple article links next to each other. ~2026-24217-06 (talk) 15:53, 12 July 2026 (UTC)
- I'm not accusing you of doing anything wrong. I'm genuinely asking in good faith for someone who knows more to take a look. Your edit to the Croats article caught my attention, because it is a topic people have used to push different nationalistic political agendas in the past, and in general I am more inclined to be alert to temporary accounts makings changes to articles about potentially contentious topics like ethnicity. Calling Croats a nation may not be inaccurate, but is absolutely contentious. Looking through more of your recent edits, I'm not inclined to believe you have ulterior motives. My hope was for someone who knows more than I do to take a look, and not to offend you. – Ike Lek (talk) 16:12, 12 July 2026 (UTC)

Dear Wikipedia administrators and editors, I am writing to formally raise concerns regarding the current Tanoli Wikipedia article and, in particular, the way its History section has been repeatedly modified. Article: Tanoli – Wikipedia I am a member of the Tanoli community and have a genuine interest in ensuring that information concerning the history and origins of the Tanoli people is presented accurately, neutrally and in accordance with Wikipedia’s sourcing and editorial standards. My concern is not that Wikipedia should present one particular theory of Tanoli origins over another. In fact, my understanding is that the origins of the Tanoli remain uncertain and that there are multiple competing traditions and theories. The article itself currently acknowledges that the exact origins are uncertain. My concern is that a particular editor, Sutyarashi, appears to have made a number of changes to historical material concerning the Tanoli and related pages, including removing or altering historical information and introducing claims that, in my view, are not adequately supported by reliable and independent sources. I am also concerned that similar editing behaviour may have occurred on other related pages. Where the historical evidence is uncertain or disputed, I believe Wikipedia should reflect that uncertainty rather than present a particular interpretation as established historical fact. Historical claims concerning the origins, ancestry and identity of an ethnic or tribal community are particularly sensitive and should be handled with a high standard of neutrality and sourcing. I would therefore respectfully request that an uninvolved administrator or experienced editor review: The complete edit history of the Tanoliarticle, particularly edits made by Sutyarashi. The sources introduced or relied upon for claims concerning Tanoli origins and early history. Any material that has been removed from the article and whether those removals were adequately justified. Whether sources being used actually support the specific claims for which they are being cited. Whether similar editing patterns can be identified on other articles relating to the Tanoli and their history. Whether the current wording complies with Wikipedia’s requirements concerning reliable sourcing, neutrality and avoiding unsupported historical conclusions. I would also ask that consideration be given to temporarily protecting the article, if administrators believe that protection is appropriate, while the disputed historical material is reviewed. My preference would be for the article to be protected from further disruptive editing rather than allowing repeated unilateral changes to continue. I want to make clear that I am not asking Wikipedia to endorse a particular Tanoli origin theory simply because I am a member of the community. I am asking for the opposite: that competing theories be treated according to the quality of the historical evidence supporting them, and that claims which cannot be adequately verified be presented as disputed or uncertain rather than as established fact. It is particularly frustrating to see historical claims about my own people repeatedly changed without what appears to be adequate consideration of the available evidence. As a member of the Tanoli community, this is personally meaningful to me, but I understand that personal affiliation does not determine what should appear in an encyclopedia. That is precisely why I am requesting an impartial review based on Wikipedia’s own policies and standards rather than asking editors to simply accept my interpretation. I would also appreciate clarification regarding the appropriate dispute-resolution process for this matter. If the appropriate procedure is to raise the specific disputed edits and sources on the article’s Talk page, request a third opinion, submit a Request for Comment, or seek administrator intervention, I am willing to follow that process. Ultimately, my request is simply that the Tanoli article accurately reflect what is actually known, what is disputed, and what remains uncertain about Tanoli history. The historical identity and origins of an entire community should not be rewritten on the basis of unsupported claims, questionable sources, or an individual editor’s preferred interpretation. Thank you for taking the time to review this complaint. I would appreciate an independent assessment of the editing history, sources and disputed material and, where appropriate, administrative action to prevent further disruptive editing. Kind regards, A Member of The Tanoli Community ~2026-44783-41 (talk) 18:20, 16 August 2026 (UTC) | |
