Nervousness

I've spent a long time on another MediaWiki site, and I have to say that I've got a few problems of my own. My goalposts for what I consider to be uncivil is quite different, and my trust is limited since a sizable number of users tend to be drive-by vandals and/or trolls. Furthermore, I have gotten unconstructive feedback on the other site that only exacerbates the situation and is a serious problem for my nerves. From my perspective, so many people think they have carte blanche to judge me, belittle me, and emotionally abuse me just because I am different from them and have ailing mental health. I can be quite stubborn and bunkered up from years of mistreatment, and I feel like I need to take action against those that cause trouble. (From my time on another wiki, I've learned that I am far more adept at detecting vandalism than making edits.) TheEternalOutsider (talk) 07:43, 25 December 2024 (UTC)

Why I'm Here

I don't know if I trust the administration of another wiki, which is constantly short-staffed and leaves downtime gaps and vulnerabilities. That place often leaves me in a shabby headspace. I also thought I had too much responsibility forced on me (even if it isn't actually the case.), making feel like Sisyphus over there. As such, I feel much safer and more at ease here on Wikipedia, which is more than capable of surviving. (By the way, I've been reading Wikipedia since around 2014 or so, so there's also that.)
