Hi! I'm so glad that you found something to do on Wikipedia! Something else I really enjoy is monitoring the recent changes log to help revert vandalism, and, as soon as you become 'autoconfirmed', you can learn how to do so here. Other thing I like to do is to take a look at this list of uncategorized pages and find categories for them, and a final thing I like is to fix grammar on articles in this list and add Wikilinks to articles in this list. You can find more odd little things like these at the Task Centre.

Salmon as food

@MolecularPilot:Hello. I saw you thanked me for my recent edit on Salmon as food. Would like to know any specific reason for this. I am a beginner and would like to know everything that pleases other Wikipedians, so I can understand what is good to do at Wikipedia. One curious question though. As I was finalizing my edit, the page was saying that the infobox had a error regarding Cholesterol. I went to the template source [Template:Infobox nutritional value]. I realized, that cholesterol begins with a small "c" rather than the big "C". I changed that, and apparently the error got fixed. Does it happen with infoboxes - i.e. even capitalization matters? It can depend on the individual infobox, but generally parameters are case sensitive (and almost always lowercase). Thanks for spotting that mistake with the box & fixing it.

Hi Boingit! I didn't add the tags, that was someone else, but I've gone ahead and removed all the tags up the top because you added references demonstrating independent, secondary sources talking about the building in detail, which is perfect (and the reason I marked it as patrolled when I saw the article!), and also made it not an orphan anymore. The final thing is categories - even I struggle with this one! A good thing to do is start by looking on the page of a broad category, like Category:Buildings and structures and then look at a subcategory that's relevant to the building, and then the relevant subcategories of that subcategory etc. until you find a couple perfect and specific categories. BTW I have no personal connection with the content of this page other than that it fills a gap in the antecedents of the later "CSIRO Marine and Atmospheric Research", for whom I worked for a while... so by creating this article I am attempting to make the relevant portion of Wikipedia more complete. RE "Increasing the coverage of CSIRO" ... just as an aside, there is so much more expansion that could be done; https://csiropedia.csiro.au/divisions-and-units-a-z/ lists some 250 Divisions and "business units" that have come and gone over its c.65 year history, a significant subset with staff in the hundreds, annual budgets in the millions of (Australian) dollars, and scientific outputs often in the thousands of papers over the lifetime of each - Google Scholar has "About 981,000 results" if you search for CSIRO (i.e. all units/sections/Divisions) today, meaning (mostly) articles in the peer reviewed literature... yet the only 6 Divisions' / business units' profiles seem to be on Wikipedia at this time, all created by myself as a bit of a hobby (the only ones I have any personal experience of) - so much to do, so few takers as yet in the area of article creation... slightly more encouraging, there are some 4,500 images mentioning "CSIRO" ( pretty unique acronym!) on Wikipedia Commons that could be available for use in articles (https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?search=csiro&title=Special%3AMediaSearch&type=image) so maybe someone will use them - plus add more of course! There is an issue that nags at the back of my mind, but I lack the enthusiasm and time to try and push it further ... which is that significant, government or quasi government operations should maybe depend for their notability on their size (number of employees? budget?), mandate (e.g. science for nation X in area Y), duration (maybe not less than 2 or 3 years), substantial outputs (e.g. if a science agency: publications in peer reviewed literature), and self documentation (annual reports, public accounts by serving staff, etc.) all of which could be said to be non-third party by present WP notability norms, as opposed to (say) someone in a newspaper or magazine article saying in effect, hey this is a great agency and what a good job they do. That might have avoided the original issue we were discussing regarding establishing the "notability" of one CSIRO Division or any other. But I feel if I raised it in the right places it would set off a crusade that I am not sure I have the time to follow through - though others might perhaps. If you have any thoughts, maybe put them here, otherwise I will quietly move on to other non-controversial tasks!! Regards Tony Tony 1212 (talk) 18:52, 18 April 2026 (UTC)

Beyond a normal Google search, you might want to try Google Scholar or Google Books which can uncover other types of reference material. You could also ask a question at the Wikipedia WP:REFDESK, or visit an IRL library and ask the librarian there if there are any resources available about the power plant (they are experts in research and digging up sources!). But, unfortunately, if there's not enough sources to pass the notability requirements (see WP:42 for an easy explanation), we might not be able to have an article about it. Hi AryanChawhan! Sorry for the delay in my reply, I was busy on a trip and away from Wikipedia. I think a great way to learn about how to edit a page is by going through the Wikipedia adventure, which is a beginner-friendly interactive guide that explains not only how technically to edit a page but also the relevant policy considerations, too. For making a new article, you should read WP:YFA which covers most key things - the most important thing is that it meets the Notability requirements, which you can learn more about by seeing a simple explanation at WP:42.

2024 and 2025 NPP Awards

JTtheOG was selected as the NPP reviewer of the year for both 2024 and 2025, for reviewing the most articles amongst all reviewers.

Hey man im josh and MPGuy2824 won the Redirect Ninja Master Award for 2024 and 2025 respectively, for reviewing the most redirects.

Overall in 2024, one Platinum, two Gold, eight Silver, 12 Bronze and 45 Iron Barnstars were awarded. Additionally, 66 reviewers got the NPP barnstar for doing more than 100 reviews through the year. In 2025, one Platinum, ten Silver, 13 Bronze and 38 Iron Barnstars were awarded. Additionally, 38 reviewers got the NPP barnstar for doing more than 100 reviews through the year.

I had requested to change my user name and I was going to use my full legal name as my user name but it was suggested that I should not use that and I see the rationale in that. AKarlan, is the initial of my first name and my last name. Wikipedia suggested that I use a user name that can't be traced back to me. Any guidelines regarding choosing my user name? Because I do want to change it. And what about the email address associated with Wikipedia? I am using my real email address that has my legal name in there, should I change that as well? Hello, I would like to clarify the Wikipedia entry on the Haldimand proclamation to include the fact that the land was granted not only to the Mohawks, but to the “Mohawk Nation and such others of the Six Nation Indians” (Haldimand Proclamation, October 1784), as wish to settle there. In fact, members from all of the Six Nations moved to, and still live on what remains of the tract. However, I have never made an edit. I’m Wikipedia, and and am not sure how to go about doing so. New pages patrol September 2026 Backlog drive

September 2026 Backlog Drive | New pages patrol
On 1 September 2026, a one-month backlog drive for new pages patrol will begin at a particularly important time for NPP. The backlog has now passed 30,000 unreviewed articles, a level that has been described in current NPP discussions as exceptionally high and potentially difficult to overcome through normal reviewing alone. Backlog drives are one of the few measures that have historically produced a noticeable reduction in the backlog, so the participation of as many active patrollers as possible will matter this month. If you can review during September, please make articles your priority. Every article that is reviewed is a meaningful reduction in the backlog. With the queue at its current size, even a relatively small increase in the number of articles each patroller reviews can add up to a substantial difference over the course of the month. This is a hybrid drive, so redirect reviewing is still included. Redirects can be a useful way for newer patrollers to get comfortable with NPP and can help people build up to reviewing articles. However, the main goal of this drive is to tackle the article backlog, and experienced patrollers are particularly encouraged to spend as much of their available reviewing time on articles as they can. Barnstars will be awarded based on the number of articles and redirects patrolled. Each article review will earn 1 point, while each redirect review will earn 0.2 points. Streak awards will be given out based on consistently hitting point thresholds for each week of the drive. Barnstars will also be granted for re-reviewing articles previously reviewed by other patrollers during the drive. If you have been thinking about doing more NPP, this is an especially good month to jump in. Whether you can review a few pages or hundreds, every review helps.
