Metalwork edits
Are you sure you know what you are doing here? I've had to revert one of your edits, & do another properly. Johnbod (talk) 18:45, 19 February 2026 (UTC)
- They were bold edits, sure, but I think they were correct.
- I put gilding in Category:Artworks in metal as the relevant subcat of Category:Decorative arts, so it should not be in the latter as well per WP:SUBCAT -- none of the cats I've been working with at WP:CAT#NON-DIFFUSE afaik.
- The merge I did was based on the sources not directly supporting 'French bronze' as a distinct varietal of bronze; the lede was based on an encyclopedia opining about contemporary bronze _from_ France. Since my research didn't turn up anything, it just looked like OR, given it was an unmarked stub too. The redirect target being French sculpture was due to my research on Wikipedia Library using the term 'French bronze' in relation to French bronzeworks.
- Let me know what you think, I am still pretty confident in the edits you reverted. Thanks, chickenpox4dinner (talk) 19:11, 19 February 2026 (UTC)
One question
Are you and user:Nyarlathotep1001 the same person? ~2026-11174-16 (talk) 19:07, 19 February 2026 (UTC)
- No, this is my only account. Can I ask why you're asking -- I want to clear up any confusion! chickenpox4dinner (talk) 19:13, 19 February 2026 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Zackmann08. Thank you for your recent contributions to Template:Pashtuns. When you were adding content to the page, you added duplicate arguments to a template which can cause issues with how the template is rendered. In the future, please use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find these errors as they will display in yellow at the top of the page. Thanks. WikiCup 2026 March newsletter
The first round of the 2026 WikiCup ended on 26 February. As some of you may have noticed, good article nomination reviews now receive 10 points, an increase from 5 points in the previous year, as per a consensus at WT:CUP. This point increase has been retroactively applied to all good article reviews for which competitors have claimed points in this round. Peer reviews, which continue to be worth 5 points, are now listed in the same section as featured article candidate reviews, rather than with good article reviews. Everyone who competed in round 1 will advance to round 2 unless they have withdrawn or been banned. No other changes to the round-point system have been made for this year.
Round 1 was competitive. Three contestants scored more than 1,000 round points, and the top 16 contestants all scored more than 300 round points. The following competitors scored more than 800 round points:
Bgsu98 (submissions) with 1,467 round points, largely gained from 1 featured article, 5 featured lists, 15 good articles, and 42 FAC and GAN reviews;
Olliefant (submissions) with 1,246 round points, largely from 4 featured lists, 9 good articles, 2 featured topic articles, 4 did you know articles, and 75 FAC and GAN reviews;
Generalissima (submissions) with 1,095 round points, largely from 3 featured articles, 6 good articles, and 5 did you know articles;
MCE89 (submissions) with 848 round points, largely from 1 featured article, 8 good articles, 1 did you know article, and 32 FAC and GAN reviews; and
Rollinginhisgrave (submissions) with 838 round points, largely from 1 featured article, 8 good articles, 1 did you know article, and 14 FAC, GAN, and peer reviews.
The full scores for round 1 can be seen here. During this round, contestants have claimed 7 featured articles, 16 featured lists, 2 featured-topic articles, 168 good articles, 13 good-topic articles and more than 50 Did You Know articles. In addition, competitors have worked on 14 In the News articles, and they have conducted nearly 700 reviews. The tournament points table will be updated within the next few days.
Remember that any content promoted after 26 February but before the start of Round 2 can be claimed in Round 2. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, feel free to review one of the nominations listed on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove your name from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Category:Meat horses
@Chickenpox4dinner: I see you created a new category, Category:Meat horses, which you have started to fill with draft horse breed articles... up to 46 breeds so far. What is your source for adding these particular breeds? ▶ I am Grorp ◀ 18:43, 27 February 2026 (UTC)
- I did a deepcat search on horse breeds with mention of horsemeat. I included breeds that were described as being bred for the purpose of horsemeat, not horse breeds that were historically slaughtered for meat in short periods e.g. during Soviet culls of Central Asian horses, or wartime. chickenpox4dinner (talk) 18:52, 27 February 2026 (UTC)

FYI - new template
Hey Chickenpox4dinner, I know you do a fair bit of work on offal so thought I'd let you know I have created a Template:Offal soups while breaking what was the enormous Template:Soups. While I have you, have you considered editing Liver soup? It is almost certainly the worst article I have come across. Whonting (talk) 05:42, 31 May 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you for splitting out that monster of a navbox, it needed doing!! And I will get right on that & some of the other offal soup pages, they are like what a stub of a stub would look like, haha. chickenpox4dinner (talk · contribs · email) 16:40, 31 May 2026 (UTC)
- Liver soup research was a dud, I just WP:TNT'd it. Updated the template. chickenpox4dinner (talk · contribs · email) 16:09, 1 June 2026 (UTC)

DCWC Submission
Hi! We deliberated on your last submission, Mia Bustam, and I am sorry to inform you that it has been declined. We felt that the review did not fully address all of the GA criteria. A brief read-through of a few of the paragraphs revealed several clear grammatical and prose issues, e.g. "The Indonesian art Wulan Dirgantoro critic", "gives her full name Fransiska Emanuela Sasmiati", "Sudjojono travelled Europe", "permit him a polygamous relationship". There could be a few more of these. There are a few citations placed in between sentences contrary to MOS:CITEPUNCT (#1, #13). While there is a mention of spot-checks to citations during your review, there is no explicit mention of what has been checked.
This is not to say that your review was invalid; rather we ask that the participants do their due diligence and ensure that the criteria are validated. We hope you will address the issues with the review, and for future reviews, it would be helpful if you can spend a little more time checking the prose and ensuring that each of the GA criteria is explicitly considered before making a decision. Thanks! Magentic Manifestations (talk) 06:27, 17 July 2026 (UTC)
- Hello, thank you for taking the time to explain the rationale. I apologize for taking up time, and will strive to be more diligent in the future. Yours, chickenpox4dinner (talk · contribs · email) 15:37, 17 July 2026 (UTC)

DCWC August update
The 2026 Developing Countries WikiContest has been running for a month now, so let's check in with the competition so far!
As of the time of writing, our top contestants are:
Vanderwaalforces (submissions) ahead of the pack with 715 points, with two FAs and many GAs on the monarchs of the Kingdom of Benin;- Simongraham (submissions) with 291 points, mostly with GAs on jumping spiders, alongside various GAN and FAC reviews;
- Jaguarnik (submissions) with 240 points, mostly from an FA on the 1945 film Ivan the Terrible;
Grnrchst (submissions) with 215 points, mostly from GAs on anarchist history in various countries, alongside many GA reviews, and;
Vestrian24Bio (submissions) tied for 4th with 215 points, with an FL and four GAs on Indian cricket!
These competitors are in the lead, but if past experience is any indication, big shake-ups might still await us in the contest. If you're looking for a way to boost your position, we got a table of review requests from fellow participants—you can rack up a lot of points through reviews, and it might just convince others to review your own nominations! You can also look through the eligible reviews page to find other articles to review, with highlights for articles eligible for the 1.5× multiplier. The coordinators would like to thank Jaguarnik (submissions) for his work to keep this page up to date.
Thank you so much for all your work in the contest so far, dear participants, and keep on the good fight against systemic bias on our wiki! Have any questions? Leave a message on the contest talk page or send it to one of our wonderful coordinators: Arconning (talk · contribs), Generalissima (talk · contribs), Magentic Manifestations (talk · contribs), sawyer777 (talk · contribs), and TechnoSquirrel69 (talk · contribs). Request for review
Tim, since you have an interest in paper, I was wondering if you would review a major rewrite I have been working on for the The Paper Project page. I have been involved with the project and I want to be sure this article remains neutral. I was the original author of the page, but that was back in 2009. A note was posted in March that the page needs some attention. It seemed like a good time to revisit the topic. That turned into a complete rewrite. If you have time, can you take a look at my sandbox page to review the text and images? You are welcome to make changes or edits where you think they are appropriate. If you think it is ready and feel comfortable updating the page that would also be welcome. Thank you in advance for considering reviewing the new material. Good article nominations RfC
Hi Chickenpox4dinner,
There is an ongoing Request for Comment (RfC) at Wikipedia:Good article nominations/August 2026 RfC, which you may be interested in because in the past year, you have nominated or reviewed more than one good article nomination. This message has also been sent to all subscribers to the Good Article Gazette. The RfC contains many proposals (33 at the time of writing), which are split into the following categories: nominators, reviewers, reviews, volunteer roles, reviewing initiatives, and others. However, you are more than welcome to add any proposals of your own that you wish to put to the community.
By the end of September, all the proposals will have been closed by an uninvolved editor, either as a consensus for one of the options or with no consensus. At this point, editors will be invited again to develop these proposals into coherent policy and implement them.
Thank you for your contributions to the good articles project, and I look forward to your input! (in solidarity), JacobTheRox(talk|contributions) 16:02, 11 August 2026 (UTC)

The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Back-footed being. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (Back-footed being), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to nominate it.
