The Tenth Planet is the second serial of the fourth season of the British science fiction television series Doctor Who. Written by Kit Pedler and Gerry Davis and directed by Derek Martinus, it was broadcast on BBC1 in four weekly parts from 8 to 26 October 1966. In the serial, the Doctor and his travelling companions, Polly and Ben Jackson, arrive at a space tracking station on the South Pole in 1986, where they encounter the Cybermen, whose planet, Mondas, is absorbing energy from Earth and will soon destroy it.
