Rintaro Okabe is a fictional character and the protagonist of the visual novel game Steins;Gate (2009), developed by 5pb. and Nitroplus and part of the Science Adventure series. Okabe is a self-proclaimed mad scientist who often goes by the pseudonym Kyouma Hououin . He is also nicknamed and referred to as Okarin by his friends Shiina Mayuri and Itaru "Daru" Hashida.
