Rebuild of Evangelion, known in Japan as Evangelion: New Theatrical Edition , is a Japanese animated film series and a reboot of the original Neon Genesis Evangelion anime television series, produced by Studio Khara. Hideaki Anno serves as the writer and chief director of the series, with Kazuya Tsurumaki, Masayuki, Mahiro Maeda and Katsuichi Nakayama directing the films. Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, Ikuto Yamashita and Shirō Sagisu returned from the series to provide character designs, mechanical designs and music respectively.
