Jak II is a 2003 platform video game developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 2 (PS2). A sequel to Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy (2001), it places the protagonist Jak in the dystopian Haven City, where he pursues vengeance against the tyrannical Baron Praxis after two years of torturous experiments. The gameplay features a seamless open world driven by non-linear missions, melee combat complemented by a firearm, and vehicular travel by hoverboard or hovercars.
