Friendship Day is an international holiday dedicated to friendship and the celebration of it. Its date varies greatly by country and region. The idea of a World Friendship Day was first proposed on July 20, 1958 by Artemio Bracho during a dinner with friends in Puerto Pinasco, Paraguay. In the United States, and other countries like India, it's celebrated on the first Sunday of August.
