Cold wave is a music genre that emerged during the late 1970s and early 1980s, particularly in France, Poland and Belgium. The genre was originally pioneered by post-punk and dark wave bands who drew influence from German electronic music group Kraftwerk and made use of affordable, portable synthesizers and electronic instruments.
