The 2000 Washington State Treasurer election was held on November 7, 2000, to elect the Washington State Treasurer, concurrently with the 2000 U.S. presidential election, as well as elections to the U.S. Senate and various state and local elections, including for U.S. House and governor of Washington.
Incumbent Democratic State Treasurer Mike Murphy, first elected in 1996, was re-elected to a second term in office, defeating Republican Diane Rhoades with 56% of the vote.[1]
