@Reechard: You also didn't complete step II, which is to create the AfD discussion page. Also, as per the rest of my edit summary, I'd like to see a rationale for deletion more grounded in policy. The fact that the subject has been involved in editing the article is certainly problematic, but that in itself is not a justification to delete. Promotional content can be removed, bad sources can be removed or replaced with better ones, but that doesn't necessarily mean the article isn't salvageable. That said, my reversion of the tag was in no way intended to pass judgement either on the article or on your nomination thereof--I just want to see that proper procedure is followed. Thanks for your feedback! Much appreciated. I will fix the obvious issues before I try again. I will also enumerate Dietz's sources many of which he is a co-author. Those sources are used to support self-congratulatory statements, and in the aggregate appear to me to be unacceptable in this [encyclopedic] context.

I'd also be fine with removing the self-published and self-citing content. Thanks again,

@~2026-17722-26: The article in question, List of Egyptians, is intended to be a listing/directory of articles, not a photo gallery, and even if the images were to be considered acceptable, they weren't sized and placed properly--they were disrupting the formatting of the lists. --Finngall ^talk 20:53, 24 March 2026 (UTC)

The Early Years

@Othersideoftheroad: The deletion discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Early Years (Dropkick Murphys album) had completed, and the consensus (such as it was with relatively low participation), was to redirect the title to the band page. As I stated in the edit summary of my revert, if you feel that the result did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that the discussion was procedurally flawed, you may make an appeal at Wikipedia:Deletion review. Note, though, that any arguments should focus on procedure--it is very much not a place to relitigate the AfD discussion itself.

If the appeal is unsuccessful, then my suggestion would be to try to write an improved version of the article in draft space, and resubmit it via the Articles for Creation process.

Redirecting Mercy Health Pages

I appreciate your diligence on keeping Wikipedia free from spam and clutter. My understanding is the hospital pages that you recently redirected meet notability criteria and align with policies that the official Hospital Project put forth. I also noticed that the hospitals you kept all had a longer history. My understanding is notability is not limited to historical significance.

@RileyD0g: These articles were discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mercy Health — Dayton Springfield Emergency Center, which you had been notified about and which had been open for over three weeks. The place to argue for their retention would have been there. The result of the discussion (such as it was with light participation) was that the articles were to be redirected. My only role was to assist in enforcing that decision by converting the articles to redirects as per that result, since the closing admin did not do so at that time.

One can normally contact the closing admin about the decision, but my experience with Sandstein is that he tends to be resistant to reconsideration of his closes. One can also make an appeal at deletion review, but please note that this is not a place to simply relitigate the AfD discussion.

Note that the previous versions of the article are retained in the article history. My recommendation would be to create a new draft version of one of the articles in draftspace, make improvements, and resubmit via the Article for Creation process, where experienced editors can evaluate the article for suitability and arrange to have it moved back to mainspace if it is now considered to be up to snuff. Then (and in my opinion only then), consider using that as a model for doing the same for other articles on the list.

What are your thoughts on me passing it through the Hospital project assessment process? Wikipedia:WikiProject Hospitals/Assessment - Wikipedia I had some members of the project review the original articles when I first created them and received positive feedback. @RileyD0g: I'm not familiar with that WikiProject, so I don't know what the particular standards might be. I suggest that you should default to the general notability guidelines and the notability guidelines for organizations--any other more specific standards would follow from these in any case. --Finngall ^talk 23:54, 29 July 2026 (UTC)

Thanks. Each article met the notability standards. The Hospital project group follows the same standards, but adds detail to the citation requirements for notability: There must be at least one notable mainstream publication, one medical industry publication and one publication from outside the hospitals' market. The articles all met this. The only difference I can see between the ones that were deleted and those that weren't was age/ history. Anything that was built before WW2 was kept, anything after was removed. However historical significance is not how the community defines notability.

The SPI template was smart in handling the race condition (also known as edit conflict, but race condition is the technical term) and put your submission and my submission into one wrapper so that the SPI clerk will see that two experienced editors are reporting the same thing. New pages patrol September 2026 Backlog drive

September 2026 Backlog Drive | New pages patrol
On 1 September 2026, a one-month backlog drive for new pages patrol will begin at a particularly important time for NPP. The backlog has now passed 30,000 unreviewed articles, a level that has been described in current NPP discussions as exceptionally high and potentially difficult to overcome through normal reviewing alone. Backlog drives are one of the few measures that have historically produced a noticeable reduction in the backlog, so the participation of as many active patrollers as possible will matter this month. If you can review during September, please make articles your priority. Every article that is reviewed is a meaningful reduction in the backlog. With the queue at its current size, even a relatively small increase in the number of articles each patroller reviews can add up to a substantial difference over the course of the month. This is a hybrid drive, so redirect reviewing is still included. Redirects can be a useful way for newer patrollers to get comfortable with NPP and can help people build up to reviewing articles. However, the main goal of this drive is to tackle the article backlog, and experienced patrollers are particularly encouraged to spend as much of their available reviewing time on articles as they can. Barnstars will be awarded based on the number of articles and redirects patrolled. Each article review will earn 1 point, while each redirect review will earn 0.2 points. Streak awards will be given out based on consistently hitting point thresholds for each week of the drive. Barnstars will also be granted for re-reviewing articles previously reviewed by other patrollers during the drive. If you have been thinking about doing more NPP, this is an especially good month to jump in. Whether you can review a few pages or hundreds, every review helps.
