Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. (ΣГΡ), is a historically African-American sorority that was established in Indianapolis on November 12, 1922. Seven African-American educators were the founders of this sorority, which began as an organization for supporting the professional advancement and education of African-American women in education.
