Samantha Jane Morton is an English actress and musician. Known for her work in independent films, particularly period dramas with dark and tragic themes, she has received various accolades including a BAFTA TV Award and a Golden Globe Award, with nominations for two Academy Awards, and a Primetime Emmy Award. Morton was honored with the BAFTA Fellowship in 2024 and was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2025 for services to drama and to charity.
