Londa Schiebinger is the John L. Hinds Professor of History of Science at Stanford University. She received her Ph.D. from Harvard University in 1984. She is the founding director of Stanford's Gendered Innovations in Science, Health & Medicine, Engineering, and Environment project. Schiebinger is an elected member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and has received honorary doctorates from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (2013), Lund University (2017), and Universitat de València (2018). She was the first woman in the field of history to win the Humboldt Research Award in 1998.
