Sir Jean de Carrouges IV was a French knight who held estates in Normandy as a vassal of Count Pierre d'Alençon and who served under Admiral Jean de Vienne in several campaigns against the Kingdom of England. In 1386 he fought a judicial duel against his neighbour and former friend, the squire Jacques le Gris, whom he had accused of raping his wife Marguerite while he was away on campaign. Carrouges killed Le Gris, and the combat was the last judicial duel authorised by the Parlement of Paris.
