Jamie Gonoud (born 1992/1993)[1] is a Gaelic footballer who plays for Tyrrellspass[2] and at senior level for the Westmeath county team.
Playing career
Gonoud made his first championship appearance with Westmeath in 2013 but really nailed down a place in the Westmeath team when Westmeath reached the final of 2016 Leinster Senior Football Championship.[1]
He made a late appearance as a sub in the 2015 Leinster Senior Football Championship final.[3]
He played the entirety of the 2016 Leinster Senior Football Championship final.[4]
He received a black card against Laois in the 2021 Leinster Senior Football Championship.[5] Kildare defeated Westmeath in the 2022 Leinster Senior Football Championship but Gonoud scored a goal and was named on the team of the week, the only Westmeath player included.[6]
Gonoud was part of the Westmeath side that won the 2022 Tailteann Cup, playing in the final.[7]
He played in the 2024 NFL Division 3 final as Westmeath claimed the title.[8]
At college level, he was captain of Maynooth in the Sigerson Cup.[1]
He joined Mark McHugh's backroom team as a selector in 2025, effectively retiring from inter-county football to do so.[9][10]
Gounoud plays as a corner-back.[1]
Personal life
He married Chloe Kelly on 6 December 2024.[11]

Gonoud is 23 and it's surprising that it has taken him until this year to nail down a place in the Westmeath championship team because his ability and leadership qualities have been apparent for some time.

Tyrrellspass clubman Gonoud is also a selector which would suggest he has retired from inter-county football since the Lake County's 2025 campaign ended.
