Itsekiri, also written Isekiri, is a Yoruboid language spoken by the Itsekiri people of the western Niger Delta in southern Nigeria. It is classified in the Edekiri branch of Yoruboid and is closely related to the south-eastern varieties of Yoruba. Igala is a more distant member of the same family. An estimate published by Ethnologue placed the number of speakers at 940,000 in 2020.
