Gunsmith Cats is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kenichi Sonoda and serialized in Kodansha's seinen manga magazine Monthly Afternoon from December 1990 to April 1997. Set in Chicago, the series follows Irene "Rally" Vincent, an expert gunsmith and bounty hunter, and her partner "Minnie" May Hopkins, a demolitions specialist and former call girl, as they operate the Gunsmith Cats gun shop while moonlighting as bounty hunters. In 1995, the series was adapted into a three-episode OVA by OLM, which presents an original storyline involving the duo investigating an arms trafficking conspiracy while being targeted by an assassin. A sequel series, titled Gunsmith Cats Burst, was serialized in Monthly Afternoon from July 2004 to September 2008.
