Elbasan District was one of the former districts of Albania. Its seat was the city of Elbasan, and in its final form it covered 1,290 km2 (500 sq mi) in central Albania, with a population of 224,974 at the 2001 census. The district lay within Elbasan County and its former local units are now grouped mainly in the municipalities of Elbasan, Cërrik and Belsh.
