Bulverde is a city located in Comal County in the State of Texas. Bulverde is known for the German emigrant history of the town's founders. Bulverde was originally named Piepers Settlement after a prominent German pioneer. Its population was estimated at 7,337 in 2025, up from 5,692 at the 2020 census. Since 2000, Bulverde’s population has grown by over 95 percent. It is part of the San Antonio metropolitan statistical area.
