Andrew Bonar Law was a British Conservative politician who was Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1922 to 1923. His premiership lasted 211 days; he resigned in May 1923 after losing his voice to throat cancer and was succeeded by Stanley Baldwin. Born in New Brunswick to an Ulster Scots family, Law was the first prime minister born outside of Britain and the shortest-serving British prime minister of the 20th century.
